Bathrooms are anything but serious. Some fun and funny stuff happens in there, so take advantage of it! Making light of all the silly things that happen in your bathroom is a clever way to decorate bathroom walls.
The trick, however, is to decorate the walls of the dirtiest place in your home with class, elegance, and refinement. Oxymoron? Maybe, but let’s take a look at what could be.
4 Unique Ways to Decorate Bathroom Walls in Your Home
We say “unique” and “fun” because you can design the walls of your bathroom the way you want to. The goal is to make the bathroom and other rooms in your home a reflection of you by making them uniquely you, so let’s start with:
1. Lots and Lots of Mirrors
So you can laugh a little when you catch a glimpse of yourself unexpectedly. Plus, they will make your room look larger.
Remember the elegant part: choose mirrors with frames you love, and hang them on the walls in eye-catching patterns.
2. Personalize and Localize the Scene
Give your walls an Arizona theme, but don’t go overboard. A little goes a long way. Wallpaper one wall only, for example, with a desert-themed picture while placing one or two additional knick-knacks or wall hangings elsewhere.
You can also ask each person in your family to have a hand in the design of the bathroom, such as by choosing paint colors or wallpaper designs.
3. Have a Blast with the Paint
Paint can work wonders for your bathroom walls. Golds, grays, and blues are trendy this year, so you can work those colors into your bathroom design. But who says you have to follow everyone else? Paint every wall a different color if you want to. Strangely, when you do it purposefully, even clashing colors can look right.
4. Give ‘Em Something to Read
Some bathroom wall hangings can get a chuckle out of pretty much anyone. You know the ones. You’ve seen them: “The Best Seat in the House,” “Put a Lid on It,” “That’s How I Roll” … you get the idea.
Again, go neat and tidy with the framed art by making sure the frames have a matching theme, and choose the designs of the art and the phrases written on them carefully.
